KB5006: Move email to the Junk folder and block a sender in Outlook.

Removing an email message from your Inbox and placing the sender's email address into a 'Blocked Senders' list is very easy.

Taking steps to manage your Outlook Inbox ensures you only see email from those you expect but every now and then, an email will arrive and you'll want to move the email to a Junk folder and block the sender so any future email is also sent in the same direction.

When you no longer want to see messages from someone, you can send an email to the Junk folder and block a sender by following these simple steps:

  1. Right-click an email message from the sender you want to block
  2. Click Junk and then Block Sender
  3. If you attempt to block someone from your own Organisation by mistake, you'll get a warning advising that the action is not possible
